Photo Shoot!

From all the research for hair, make-up, poses and practise of photo shoot I have now done my own professional photo shoot, only photographing outfit 1 and 2 where my initial contemporary theme came from, the sari etc.. I had a lot of fun and feel that I had everything there from what I researched into to make my photo shoot look amazing and bringing my collection out, have a look...

Make-up started at 10am, having the swan lake  theme to the eyes...

Hair being slick straight with a huge puff, necklace added to hair to give the contemporary outfits an Indian mystic look...



Photo shoot at the location Rush farm in Alderley edge, this pose is great looking really natural as well as eye-catching...




The greenery of the garden brings the  colour of outfits out really well, netted rushed skirt looks stunning  bringing the whole contemporary theme  and colours of the netting out..




My Two models together, the statues went really well with the outfits,  the drapes on the statues related to my outfits though I wasn't too pleased with the spot in the corner as it looks too dull etc, so I will not consider this pose... 





I really like this photo  particularly because of the pose and also the background, I feel it goes really well with my target market..




I tried both outfits to each of the pose I researched into, this helped a lot as I'm really confused in which one to pick for my portfolio...




The jewellery and make-up looks fabulous it really stands out and brings my theme and collection out...





I was really struggling on the poses with the 2 outfits  together so instead  I did a few different poses so I could make my final decision in which one to pick...



The photo shoot did take all morning to do, but it was worth it as the pictures and poses were looking better and better also the sun helped showing its theme "Ashiana spring/summer 2012..."



The gate pose looks amazing, makes the outfit  look really contemporary showing clear who my aim is at and what my theme is...





Jewellery and Make-up looks stunning!





Outfit 1, sari style long dress was really fiddly and hard to work with, I took extra care on this particular outfit  to make it look amazing as outfit 2...





I'm really pleased with this photo shoot that I have done with the help of my 2 models Sana and Lydia, Rabia Karim fashion make-up artist who has brought the theme out with the stunning make-up and my uncle who does photography as a hobby who has helped me catch all the poses etc...

I'm ecstatic with the final outcome and am really excited to add in final effects to the chosen photos for my portfolio...

 



Lakhme Fashion week 2011

Now that my fashion show is coming closer I was researching on recent fashion shows to help me think of styling, music, hair and make-up etc, and found Lakme fashion week 2011 which is a popular fashion show that happens every year in India, and found amazing indian contemporary designers, I was facinated by there work and took inspiration for styling, music etc. Here are a few videos of designers that I was most impressed by, all the designers having individual themes keeping in mind its spring/ summer


VJ Balhara presented a striking collection for Summer/Resort 2011 at Lakmé Fashion Week with the quaint title “Rustic Sophistication”. Fusing creativity with the style of the aristocratic Zamindaar women from Haryana with large doses of European feminine elegance of the late 1950s and early 1960s; VJ designed swirling skirts that were reminiscent of the traditional Daaman of Haryana.

PRIA KATARIA PURI RECREATED THE MAGIC OF MARRAKESH FOR SUMMER/ RESORT 2011 AT LAKMÉ FASHION WEEK
March 11, 2011, Mumbai: “Marrakesh”, a dream summer resort destination for the jet setting fashionistas, turned into an inspiration for Pria Kataria Puri for her Summer/Resort 2011 collection at Lakmé Fashion Week.
An expert at creating holiday wear with exotic prints, Pria’s Moroccan mélange of colours gave that vintage textile feel to the collection. The colour story was dramatic with a generous play of off white, yellow, orange and apple green creating a romantic rainbow with teal green, teal pink, burgundy, navy and of course black which is the colour of the night.

THE FANATASY COLLECTION BY GAURI AND NAINIKA PRESENTED BY LAKME AT THE GRAND FINALE OF THE LAKMÉ FASHION WEEK SUMMER/RESORT 2011 SEASON WAS A SENSATIONAL END TO THE EVENT...

March 15, 2011, Mumbai: It was the most eagerly awaited event which ended the vibrant and busy Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2011 season. The Grand Finale show featuring designers Gauri and Nainika renowned for their stunning creations was presented by Lakmé at a starry elegant extravagant evening.



Im Facinated my Gauri and Nanikas work its amazing and filled with exciting designs, the grand finale of their show was fabulous, have a look!

Photo shoot- make- up/poses ideas...

For my photo shoot I tried out make-up and poses ideas  for my final photo shoot to come out amazing and hitting to my target market etc, as well as advertising and modelling for Rabia Karim a fashion make-up artist...

The make-up style is the swan lake, with the red lips for the picture to stand out, hair being slick straight with a puff etc...

Pose 1, I felt that this pose was useful to aim that the collection I will be making will aim at the 'Ready to wear' market and showing what my customers life style will be like...

Pose 2, this pose will be useful for the alibaba trousers, as this one is showing the legs off, so the flared alibaba's will look great...

Pose 3, showing the whole outfit off with a rich interesting background...

I love this pose as it shows the background off really well, also the statues look great as I can picture my collection with it now definitely will take this pose further...

I'm now really excited to do the  photo shoot as I have a really good idea of how its going to be, I feel really organised and am ecstatic that I did this practise photo shoot, as I can now make  my final photo shoot look amazing... 

Photo shoot location ideas...

Now that my collection is starting to get together I  have started to think about my photo shoot,I  have started of with locations, having the theme in mind I'm thinking about gardens and royal architecture etc...

Query bank mill gardens, I really like this location as the bridge and flowers look beautiful and feel that my collection would look great, I will be going down to have a look at this etc...

Tatton park- Japnease garden, I also am facinated by this garden as I can picture a few poses in the middle of the circle of stones etc...

Experimentation on Photoshop...

Photo shop is the main software I am using for my portfolio, I had a lot of fun experimenting on photo shop with colour and the effects that are based on the software, below are various experimentation I have done for my illustration to look perfect to the way I want it...

The first 2 are just playing around with different shades of colour to have the exact match to my Ashiana collection...

This one is the plastic wrap effect which made the whole image glow; I’m not too pleased with this one as I feel that it looks cartoon type so I will not go ahead with this particular effect...

This is near to my final illustration as I have added in actual jewellery to the illustration on the head, I will be making more changes to it by adding more jewellery to the necklaces  going down the back and also even putting in actual hair, I will be doing more experimentation to this for my illustration to look perfect..

This is my re-creation illustration for my portfolio, I'm really pleased with the drawing and adding my garment and touches to it though I'm still not finished as I will be editing it on photo shop and add colour and effects  to it etc...

I will also neaten the the bold Biro lines as it has to be perfect and start to add in colour...

Sarika Singh

Sarika Singh is a professional Fashion Designer and Fashion Illustrator, I'm fascinated by her designs and fashion illustration done for them, I have now started to think about my own fashion illustration so I will be taking inspiration from her as she is amazing...



I find this illustration beautiful as it an Indian couple on their wedding day...

Bold colours used makes the illustration standout...



I'm fascinated by the way its a contemporary outfit with a mystic twist...



I'm fascinated by this particular one as its a sari and relates to My sari dress, I will be taking inspiration from this particular fashion illustration...

Sillouhette Inspiration...

As part of my proffesional portfolio breif I have started to think how I can convey my ideas to it, so I thought of my collection inspiration and a huge part of this was from sillouhette inspirations, so I have done a page for my portfolio that includes the inspiration I got from my favorite designer Ritu Beri...

Im pleased with this board I feel that I have put the strong images that convay my final collection and also these images are in my sketchbook...

Tarun Tahiliani

Tarun Tahiliani is a Bollywood celebrity costume designer, who has designed apparels for the Indian celebrity beauties like Simi Garewal and Ramola Bachchan. He has always been in limelight. For quite a long time, this Indian fashion designer Tarun Tahiliani had become the talk of town because of Jemima Khan's wedding wardrobe contract. He started off as a fashion retailer by establishing his own fashion boutique in Mumbai. Later on he made a step further starting his own brand label called  'Ahilian'.

Im facinated by the Golden beading and the way the colours are used on this Bridal garment...

Beautiful Shilpa Shetty modelling this amazing Indian Mystic Bridal garment...

Love the way this outfit is so contemporary with the blazer jacket stylised with the skirt, but still having the bold jewl colours used...

                                                           

                                                                       

He is simply fascinated by Chikan embroidery of Lucknow and is often incorporated in his designs. He also makes use of beads and semi precious stones to embellish the ensemble. He strongly believes that fashion is all about your comfort level with a particular attire. The highlights of his designs are: block printing, bandhini styles, beautiful color combination and rich silhouettes. Neeta Lulla...

simplicity to royalty, Neeta Lulla has it all to her credit. Neeta Lulla has been one name which has been prevalent in the industry since two decades now. The designer has been an active contributor in giving the actors a look to die for. Her designs have not only been recognized in India, but have also acquired great acclaims globally.

Im facinated by the chains it brings the back of this outfit out and gives a great indian mystic influence...
